I shared this post on Facebook today to inform, to thank, and to invite.
If you’ve come here from Facebook then you know already that I’m yet in the thick of attempting to attract the interest of a publisher for my memoir – the book I wrote describing my time as a homebirth midwifery apprentice among two Amish communities in Southwest Michigan from 1993 to 2001.
You’ve accepted my invitation! Oh! Thank you!
For those of you who received this post by email, you’re already a subscriber, and, oh! I thank you, too!
Again, the effort to get my book published is the very reason this blog exists at all, but keeping it has turned out to be a delight all by itself! I’ve enjoyed writing these stories for all of you, and I’ve enjoyed interacting with those who’ve left comments and messages for me!
Sometimes I sit back and think of you – you thousands of souls spread across the nation – a myriad points of light joined by our love for birth, by our admiration for the Amish, by our desire to be and do all we were created to be and do – and I smile, and I sigh, and I thank my God.
Keep looking for my stories, friends! Keep liking them, keep loving them, keep commenting on them, keep sharing them! The broader the stream of you, my readers, is, the sooner we’ll all be holding my book in our hands!
Let’s make this happen together!
